Outreach activities involve service as well as financial support to agencies and people in need. Our committee supports a variety of needy causes on a regular basis, plus we react to siuational needs as well. St. Edward's vestry appropriates a percentage of the annual budget for outreach. The Outreach Committee designates where these funds are spent. Outreach currently receives 6% of the general budget. Our vestry has committed to increasing this amount by no less than 0.5% each year until Outreach receives 10% of the annual budget. Parishioners interested in helping should contact David Chandler. Our parishioners help in many ways. We help staff Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministries, we provide financial support, and we provide food by bringing non-perishables to church. Other activities: - Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) - FODAC provides medical equipment to disabled people in the metro Atlanta area who could not otherwise afford it.
- Habitat for Humanity - St. Ed's supports Habitat for Humanity financially and by sponsoring workdays. With volunteers and donations from the community, we build houses in Gwinnett County to assist low-income families in need.
- Emmaus House - The mission of Emmaus House is to provide hope and hospitality to our neighbors in Peoplestown and beyond. Through a variety of programs for children, adults and seniors, they strive to be the love of Christ incarnate in our immediate community and to form relationships that embody the reconciling love of God. St. Ed's provides Christmas stockings for the children of Emmaus House.
- Annual Blood Drive - Each year, Outreach sponsors a parish blood drive, which is conducted at the Church. Parishioners are encouraged to give blood themselves, as well as rallying the community.
- Meals on Wheels - St. Ed's supports Meals on Wheels by supplying labor and meals. We have a team that delivers meals regularly to area shut-ins.
