ImageWe offer three Sunday morning services weekly:
  • 7:30 a.m. - Rite I Eucharist
The first service of the morning is a reflective service concentrating on a more quiet form of worship, although there is some music and hymn singing to open and close the service. There is also a brief sermon.

The order of worship for this service customarily follows Rite I in the Book of Common Prayer, though, on occasion, we will use Rite II. Rite I is differentiated from Rite II by a more formal language and less variation.

  • 8:45 a.m. - Rite II Family Eucharist
Our second service is a contemporary Eucharist using Rite II. The music is led by the Middle Service Musicians, which include guitars, flutes, piano, strings, drums and singers. The hymns selected are from many sources often using praise and gospel songs.

The design of the service is welcoming to children of all ages and even incorporates a children's sermon in the mix.

  • 11 a.m. - Rite II Festive Eucharist
This is the traditional service using Rite II, with the full choir (and often the bell choir) leading the music. This is the service in which we tend to host baptisms and other forms of recognition. A full sermon is given.
All three services center on Christ's Eucharist, which is a worship of thanksgiving and building of community (communion). It is designed to enhance our praise and love of God, strengthen our bonds and empower us to do the work of Christ in the world.

Because we follow the Church Year, we celebrate the various seasons of the Church and highlight the Major Holy Days. Holy Week, Easter, and Christmas are very special times at St. Edward's, as are Pentecost (May 11, 2008) and our Patronal Feast Day, St. Edward's Day (October 19, 2008), which we celebrate with picnics; Ascension Day (May 1, 2008); and the Blessing of the Animals (October 5, 2008).

Noonday Healing and Eucharist - Wednesdays

Please join us for the Noonday Healing and Eucharist every Wednesday in the Chapel.  This service is a small but peaceful time to reflect on the Scripture, and receive the Eucharist. The service lasts about 50 minutes so it is feasible to join us during a lunch break and make it back to work. Please join us.

Healing Services

Healing Services are held after the 11 a.m. service on the last Sunday of every month and each Wednesday at the Noonday Healing and Eucharist.  If you are in need of healing prayers, a prayer minister from the Order of St. Luke will be available to you after the 11:00 service every Sunday. Please let Fr. Kent or Fr. Paul know of your needs by the close of the 11:00 service.
