  • Sunday School ClassAdult Christian Education normally meets from 9:45-10:45am on Sunday mornings. Two classes will be available starting August 17, 2008:

    • Lectionary Bible Study - meets in the Library
This class explores the roots and meanings of the lessons for each Sunday, especially the Gospel, in the context of which they were written, and in the context of our lives today.

    • Course to be determined
  • Order of St. Luke (OSL):   OSL is the ministry of intercessory prayer and laying on of hands. Meetings, which are held on the last Sunday of the month in the Quiet Room in the Narthex, consist of worship; prayer requests for those present; education about healing from books, videos, articles, scripture and life; and studies of Jesus' healing that continues through today.

All interested in prayer or becoming a member of the Order are welcome!

  • Baptism Preparation:  All families with members seeking baptism are asked to participate in these classes. Offered on a regular basis, this series focuses on the symbols of baptism and the baptismal convenant. It provides practical resources for living the Christian life in the home.

Dates for the series will be announced in the Sunday bulletins and in the parish newsletter as they become available.  To sign up for this series and to schedule your baptism, call the Parish Office.

  • Inquirers Class:  The class is for anyone interested in learning more about the Episcopal way of leading a Christian life, and is required for those wishing to be confirmed in the Episcopal Church. We will look at scripture, liturgy, church history, theology, mission and ministry, all within an Episcopal context.

Offered once a year, this series culminates in confirmation at the Cathedral of St. Philip for those who decide to take that step.

  • Education for Ministry (EFM):  EFM is a four year in-depth Christian Education program administered through the School of Theology of the University of the South. Trained mentor's guide students through scriptural study, theological reflections, church history and Christian love. Students may choose to commit to one year of study at a time. Classes will meet September through May. Interested adults should contact Joan Irving or David Chandler through the Parish Office. For more information about this program you can check out the national website, EFM.
